Children’s Museum of the Upstate | 1776 Exhibit

Sisal Creative was commissioned by The Children’s Museum of the Upstate in Greenville, South Carolina, to design a Revolutionary War exhibit inspired by 1776, transforming historical storytelling into an engaging, hands-on experience for children and families. From concept development through installation, our team led the creative vision for the exhibit, designing environmental graphics, digitally illustrated murals and custom wallpapers, signage, wayfinding, surface patterns, interactive exhibit elements, and the overall visitor experience. Every detail was intentionally crafted to create a cohesive environment where history comes to life through exploration, imagination, and play.

Bringing the exhibit to life required close collaboration with a talented network of fabrication and print partners. While trusted fabricators transformed our designs into custom exhibit components, Sisal Creative completed scenic finishing on select pieces through custom paint treatments, textures, and hand-applied details to ensure every element reflected the original creative vision. The result is a richly layered environment that invites visitors to step into the world of 1776 while discovering the people, places, and stories that shaped our nation’s history.
